About Centre LGBT+

Centre LGBT+ serves the State College, PA community as Centre County's only dedicated LGBT organization, offering comprehensive support, resources, and programming designed to enhance the lives of LGBT+ individuals and their allies. Since opening their physical location on East Calder Way, Centre LGBT+ has developed a robust array of services including support groups for both LGBT+ community members and their loved ones, youth programming such as the annual True to You youth summit and the ongoing Bring Your Own Queer (BYOQ) youth group, and a gender-affirming clothing closet. The organization provides education and advocacy initiatives focused on legal, social, and health-related issues affecting the LGBT+ community. Beyond formal support services, Centre LGBT+ maintains an active calendar of community events and social activities including movie nights, wig and makeup workshops, Drag Bingo, and the annual Gayla party. The center itself functions as a welcoming community hub where individuals can drop in for coffee, access their library resources, participate in events, and connect with others. Centre LGBT+ prioritizes advocacy work that contributes to a more just and equitable society while maintaining community outreach efforts that deepen understanding of LGBT+ issues throughout the region. Their mission centers on bringing the community together through LGBT education, advocacy, and activities that foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all residents of Central Pennsylvania.
