Full Spectrum Community Outreach Center

Full Spectrum Community Outreach Center is the Mahoning Valley's comprehensive LGBTQIA+ resource hub, serving Youngstown, OH and surrounding counties including Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, Mercer, and Lawrence. Since 2016, the organization has provided essential mental health services, peer support groups, and community engagement programs designed specifically for the LGBTQIA+ population. Full Spectrum offers monthly peer support groups for both youth and adults, LGBTQIA+ inclusion trainings for area businesses, organizations, schools, and first responders to promote workplace equality and awareness. The center provides practical support through its "Closet of Change" program, offering chest binders, wigs, makeup, and accessories to assist with gender exploration and expression. Additional services include free HIV testing and prevention information, case management and referrals for homelessness, medical services, counseling, domestic violence, and substance abuse support. Full Spectrum also distributes non-perishable food, clothing, toiletries, and gender-affirming items to those in need. The organization hosts social, educational, and community events throughout the year, including the annual Pride in the Valley festival held in Warren, Ohio every June. In 2023, Full Spectrum acquired the Hope House Visitation Center in Youngstown, which will house the region's first LGBTQIA+ adult transitional homeless shelter, opening in early 2026—the only facility of its kind within a 40-mile radius. This expansion represents a major milestone in Full Spectrum's ongoing mission to ensure health, equality, and dignity for LGBTQIA+ individuals across the region.
