GLSEN, Inc. is a national education organization based in New York, NY that provides comprehensive solutions to create safe and affirming K-12 school environments for LGBTQ students. The organization operates through four strategic pillars: developing supportive educators through professional training and resources, implementing comprehensive policies that protect LGBTQ and marginalized students, creating inclusive curriculum materials, and supporting student-led Gender-Sexuality Alliances (GSAs) across the country.

GLSEN conducts extensive, evidence-based research through its Research Institute to inform effective school safety initiatives. The organization authors developmentally appropriate resources that educators download more than 500,000 times annually to support their school communities. GLSEN also provides policy advocacy and research services, having brought record support to federal legislation including the Safe Schools Improvement Act and the Student Non-Discrimination Act, while actively fighting discriminatory policies in over 15 states.

With a network of 43 chapters spanning 30 states, GLSEN ensures access to schools and districts nationwide. The organization coordinates thousands of registered GSAs and empowers students to drive positive change within their own schools and communities. Since its founding in 1990 by educators, GLSEN has grown into a national movement with over 1.5 million members including students, families, educators, and education advocates all working toward the shared goal of eliminating bullying and harassment in K-12 schools.
