Kaleidoscope Youth Center

Kaleidoscope Youth Center is Ohio's comprehensive support organization dedicated to serving LGBTQIA+ youth ages 12-24 in Columbus, OH and throughout Central Ohio. Since 1994, KYC has provided free, affirming programming and services designed to create safe spaces where young people can explore their identities and develop into confident, authentic versions of themselves. The organization operates a welcoming drop-in center offering social activities, leadership development, life-skills training, health and wellness education, and mutual support groups tailored specifically for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and ally youth. Beyond center-based programs, Kaleidoscope Youth Center extends its reach across Ohio through the GSA Network, providing resources and support to Gender-Sexuality Alliance clubs in schools statewide. The organization also offers specialized behavioral health services, community-based wellness initiatives, and affinity group programming that celebrates the multiple identities LGBTQIA+ youth hold. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, KYC maintains a commitment to racial justice and equity, actively advocating for visibility and inclusion. The center's youth-informed, youth-led approach ensures that programming is developed by and for young people themselves, with the Community Advisory Board of youth leaders ages 12-24 helping shape KYC's direction and advocacy efforts. Professional staff and volunteers work alongside participants to provide mentorship, resources, and leadership opportunities throughout Columbus and Central Ohio.
