One Colorado

One Colorado is Colorado's leading advocacy organization dedicated to advancing equality and civil rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals and families throughout Denver and across the state. With over 12 years of proven success, One Colorado effectively advocates for LGBTQ Coloradans by engaging directly with the General Assembly, executive branch, and local governments to drive meaningful policy change. The organization has successfully codified 18 pieces of pro-equality legislation into Colorado law, protecting and advancing rights in critical areas including safe schools, transgender equality, relationship recognition, and LGBTQ health and human services. One Colorado's comprehensive approach includes targeted advocacy on distinctive health challenges facing LGBTQ communities, policy development across multiple focus areas including legal rights, youth and families, racial justice, and gender expansive equality, and civic engagement initiatives that encourage volunteerism and electoral organizing. The organization provides essential services including trainings, presentations, educational resources, and volunteer opportunities that empower all Coloradans to participate in the LGBTQ movement. Recent accomplishments demonstrate One Colorado's impact: in 2023, the organization partnered with state leaders to expand gender-affirming care coverage through both the Colorado Insurance Benchmark Plan and Colorado Medicaid, while also championing SB23-188 to protect those involved in gender-affirming care. The One Colorado Action Fund endorsed 52 pro-equality candidates in 2022, including 8 LGBTQ candidates, and extended endorsements to 8 statewide candidates.
