About OUT MetroWest
OUT MetroWest operates comprehensive free youth programs serving the Framingham, MA community and surrounding MetroWest region. With more than a decade of experience building supportive environments for LGBTQ+ youth, OUT MetroWest offers multiple specialized programs designed to meet the diverse needs of young people across all age groups. The organization runs Prism for high school youth, Umbrella for transgender and non-binary middle and high school students, Nexus for middle schoolers (Massachusetts' first community program of its kind), and Shine and Glow for elementary-age children. Each program provides structured social and supportive meetings where youth connect with peers and LGBTQ+ adult role models in safe, affirming spaces. OUT MetroWest also offers drop-in sessions providing casual, unstructured time for youth to build community outside formal programming. Beyond direct youth services, OUT MetroWest delivers educational workshops and community training to organizations and institutions throughout the region. The organization operates more than a dozen youth meetings monthly from its Framingham hub, plus online programming and satellite events across MetroWest. With capacity to directly serve over 300 youth annually while engaging hundreds more through educational initiatives and community events, OUT MetroWest demonstrates significant community reach. The organization's responsive approach to community feedback has shaped program development, including the creation of specialized initiatives like the Youth of Color Hangout. All programs are completely free, removing financial barriers to participation and ensuring accessibility for all LGBTQ+ youth seeking community connection and support.
