PFLAG Hampton Roads

PFLAG Hampton Roads provides comprehensive support, education, and advocacy services for LGBTQIA individuals and their families, friends, and allies throughout the Norfolk, VA community. As part of the nation's first and largest organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ equality, PFLAG Hampton Roads leverages nearly 50 years of expertise to create meaningful connections and foster understanding across generations. The organization offers multiple engagement opportunities including support meetings where open-minded individuals can share experiences, ask questions, and receive guidance from skilled board members who are committed to helping people find answers. PFLAG Hampton Roads actively develops educational initiatives and community events designed to build affirming environments, including the Rainbow Prom for youth, community picnics, and GSA Bootcamp programs for student groups in local schools. Beyond events, the organization provides direct advocacy support to advance equality and respect for sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. PFLAG Hampton Roads also administers a growing scholarship program to support students as they transition into their professional lives after high school. With a network of nearly 400 chapters and 250,000 supporters nationwide, PFLAG Hampton Roads brings evidence-based resources and a compassionate approach to supporting the LGBTQIA community in Norfolk and the broader Hampton Roads region.
