About PFLAG Jersey Shore

PFLAG Jersey Shore is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support services, education, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ individuals and their families throughout Freehold, NJ and the surrounding Monmouth and Ocean counties. Since 2004, the organization has established itself as a trusted resource offering monthly support meetings tailored to different needs—one addressing all LGBTQ+ topics and another exclusively focused on transgender support. These meetings create safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental environments where participants can discuss challenges, share experiences, and access information relevant to their situations.

Beyond regular support meetings, PFLAG Jersey Shore sponsors numerous special events and educational initiatives throughout the year. The organization facilitates panel discussions for parents of LGBTQ+ youth at local libraries, coordinates awareness training seminars for schools and workplaces, and sponsors social and cultural events including LGBTQ+ youth dances and partnerships with organizations like the NJ Gay Men's Chorus. Their work addresses the unique issues facing LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies, from helping parents navigate acceptance after their child comes out, to supporting teens experiencing school harassment, to assisting transgender individuals through their transition journey.
