PFLAG Lubbock

PFLAG Lubbock is the oldest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ individuals and their families on the South Plains, serving the Lubbock, TX community since 1993. The organization operates through three core service pillars: comprehensive support programs designed to help individuals and families navigate challenges in an adverse society; educational initiatives aimed at enlightening the public about sexual orientation and gender identity; and active advocacy efforts to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights for all.

PFLAG Lubbock provides multiple specialized support groups tailored to different needs, including a Women's Group, Men's Group, and Gender Spectrum Support Group, ensuring participants find community with others who share their experiences. Regular monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at St. John's United Methodist Church, creating a safe, confidential space where participants can share experiences, learn from one another, and celebrate diversity. Each meeting features focused programming that rotates between support, education, and advocacy topics, typically lasting 30-45 minutes and accommodating 15-30 attendees.

Beyond regular meetings, PFLAG Lubbock organizes special events throughout the year, including an annual picnic, holiday celebrations, National Coming Out Day observances, and community speaking engagements on the Texas Tech campus and throughout Lubbock. The organization welcomes participation from parents, families, friends, and allies of LGBTQ individuals, representing diverse backgrounds, political persuasions, and faiths. All are welcome regardless of religious affiliation or political beliefs.
