PFLAG Mahoning Valley

PFLAG Mahoning Valley is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people, their family members, and allies throughout the Youngstown, OH community. As a chapter affiliate of PFLAG National, the nation's largest organization of its kind, PFLAG Mahoning Valley provides comprehensive services designed to promote the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual individuals.

The organization operates through three core pillars: support services to help individuals and families cope with societal challenges; education initiatives aimed at enlightening the public and fostering understanding; and advocacy efforts to end discrimination and secure equal rights for all LGBTQ+ people. Since the early 1990s, PFLAG Mahoning Valley has been instrumental in building and sustaining an organized LGBTQ+ community in Youngstown, transforming what was once an area without visible community resources into a supportive network for residents.
