About PFLAG North Jersey

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of North Jersey, is a group of people who meet regularly in the Montclair area and are dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people, their families and their friends. We hope this site will help you find the information you need and build better lines of communication between PFLAG and the community.

PFLAG was founded in 1981 by 25 parents concerned with society’s attitude toward their gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered children. Today, PFLAG represents more than 65,000 families and friends in the United States and speaks for the thousands of others who cannot.

Our mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQ+ people and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQ people.
