PFLAG Oxford Area

PFLAG Oxford Area provides comprehensive education, support, and advocacy services to families, allies, and LGBTQ+ individuals throughout the Oxford, Ohio community. As part of the nation's first and largest organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ acceptance, PFLAG Oxford Area connects local families with resources and programming designed to foster understanding and create inclusive environments. The organization offers multiple membership options including individual, family, student, and business memberships, making participation accessible to various segments of the Oxford community. PFLAG Oxford Area organizes Safe Zone Training programs in collaboration with local institutions like St. Mary Church and Catholic Campus Ministry, equipping community members with knowledge about inclusive language and practices. The chapter has developed a Rainbow Reading List featuring age-appropriate, inclusive books for pre-school through middle-school students, which have been distributed to Talawanda district school libraries. Additionally, PFLAG Oxford Area hosts community forums and educational events addressing topics such as inclusive athletic environments and LGBTQ+ student support. Through these initiatives, PFLAG Oxford Area works toward ending discrimination and securing equal civil rights for the LGBTQ+ community while promoting the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals and their families in the Oxford, Ohio area.
