About Pride at Work
Pride At Work is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equality and justice for LGBTQ union members and their allies across the United States. Operating from our national office in Washington, DC, we serve as an officially recognized constituency group of the AFL-CIO, coordinating and supporting more than 20 chapters nationwide. Our work focuses on building worker power through education, strategic alliances, and grassroots solidarity organizing.
We provide comprehensive advocacy and organizing services to promote full equality for LGBTQIA+ individuals in workplaces and unions without restrictions or barriers. Our initiatives include educating the LGBTQ community about union contract benefits, fostering mutual support between the labor movement and LGBTQ communities, and combating discrimination based on sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, HIV status, immigration status, veteran status, religion, and political views. We work to create a labor movement that cherishes diversity, promotes inclusion, encourages openness, and ensures safety and dignity for all workers. Our organizing philosophy draws from the union movement's historic motto, "An Injury to One is An Injury to All," guiding our commitment to collective action and economic justice for the working class.
