Pride Center of Maryland

The Pride Center of Maryland is Maryland's primary source for comprehensive guidance, education, cultural competency, and specialized services designed to improve quality of life for sexual and gender minority communities. Based in Baltimore, MD, PCOM delivers over 30 programs and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of LGBTQ+ and same-gender-loving individuals across all ages and backgrounds. The organization provides youth development programs, mental health services, violence prevention initiatives, support services, and trauma-informed care designed with cultural, linguistic, gender, sexuality, and age-appropriate frameworks. PCOM's Youth Making-Change and Evolving (YME) program specifically serves youth ages 13-34, offering safe spaces for growth, leadership development, and connection to essential resources. The organization operates the Dayona Canty Preventive Health Clinic, providing free sexual wellness and HIV testing services on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beyond Baltimore headquarters, PCOM maintains an active presence throughout Maryland, including Prince George's, Montgomery, Frederick, and Charles counties, conducting outreach and education activities in partnership with local organizations and city councils. Since 2016, PCOM has served over 360,000 people and hosted more than 342 programs and events. The organization's innovative approach includes special events such as wellness workshops, self-defense and fitness classes, and the Silver Circle program for elders, alongside comprehensive health services and educational programming designed to ensure equal access to care and authentic community spaces.
