Queer Community Health at UCLA

Queer Community Health at UCLA is a student-led organization dedicated to addressing critical health disparities affecting marginalized communities in Los Angeles, CA. Operating from the University of California - Los Angeles campus, the organization provides comprehensive support across three key service areas designed to remove barriers to wellness and healthcare access.

The General Resources Committee tackles fundamental health determinants by addressing housing instability and food insecurity within the queer community. Recognizing that health extends far beyond clinical settings, this committee works to ensure community members have access to essential day-to-day necessities that form the foundation of physical and mental wellbeing.

The Medical Resources Committee specializes in connecting queer individuals to affordable healthcare options while breaking down psychological and systemic barriers that prevent community members from seeking medical care. Understanding that healthcare environments can feel unwelcoming or unsafe, this committee provides navigation support and advocacy to facilitate meaningful healthcare engagement.

The Legal Resources Committee addresses policy and legal barriers affecting queer existence, advocating for systemic improvements within current legal frameworks. This committee works to empower community members with knowledge of their rights and available protections.

Established in 2019, Queer Community Health at UCLA combines direct service provision with educational workshops and strategic partnerships with community organizations throughout Los Angeles.
