Rainbow Families

Rainbow Families is a dedicated nonprofit organization serving LGBTQ+ parents, families, and prospective parents throughout Washington, DC and beyond. Since formalizing as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2008, Rainbow Families has established itself as a comprehensive resource hub providing education, support services, and community connections for diverse LGBTQ+ families. The organization offers signature social and educational programs designed to address the unique needs and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals navigating parenthood and family formation. Through membership programs, targeted communications channels, and in-person gatherings, Rainbow Families connects with over 10,000 individuals monthly, extending support not only within the DC region but also reaching families across the nation. The organization's commitment to accessible, inclusive services has earned recognition from the Catalogue for Philanthropy, which named Rainbow Families "One of the Best" nonprofit organizations in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
