About The Gill Foundation
At the Gill Foundation, we believe people should be treated equally regardless of who they are or who they love. That’s why we support efforts at the state and national level to better the lives of every American.
Started in 1994 by software entrepreneur Tim Gill, the Gill Foundation is one of the nation’s leading funders of efforts to secure full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people.
Tim Gill’s vision to protect the greatest number of people in the shortest amount of time is at the heart of the foundation’s work. We support nonprofit organizations across the nation that advance the rights of LGBTQ Americans by conducting research, educating people, telling stories, and working within the legal system.
The foundation has a commitment to its home state of Colorado and makes grants to organizations in the state working to lower barriers to economic opportunity and create a place where everyone has the same opportunity to thrive.
Tim Gill and the Gill Foundation believe that engaging, educating, and inspiring donors in the LGBTQ movement is critical to achieving full equality. We work hard to broaden the base of LGBTQ and allied donors who are knowledgeable about nonprofits and the importance of their work through our OutGiving network.
