Waves Ahead provides comprehensive mental health and psychosocial support services to vulnerable and marginalized populations throughout Puerto Rico, with a central presence in San Juan, PR. The organization specializes in culturally sensitive mental health services, clinical social work management, and psychological counseling delivered by qualified professionals. Waves Ahead operates multiple community centers across the island—in San Juan, Cabo Rojo, Maunabo, Loíza, and Isabela—ensuring accessible care for underserved communities. Their service offerings include weekly sessions with psychologists, clinical social work interventions, educational workshops, support groups, and wellness activities such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness training. The organization serves diverse populations including LGBT+ older adults, seniors over 50, female heads of household, homeless individuals, and the general population in need of mental health support. Waves Ahead manages SAGE Puerto Rico and its LGBT+ Senior Community Center, a subsidiary of SAGE USA dedicated to advocacy and services for LGBT+ older adults. All services are provided free of cost to community members.
